ARGV / GUIDE

Start with one real
engineering task.

Create a Project, add useful context, and prepare a reviewed brief for your coding agent.

Your first Project to handoff

  1. Create a Project

Create one Project for your codebase and add its name, description, and stack.

Then: A focused home for this codebase.

  2. Add Project Knowledge

In Project Brain, record architecture, requirements, rules, constraints, and decisions that should guide future work.

Then: Reusable context that Brain can select for tasks.

    Knowledge guide ↗
  3. Create a Task

Describe the goal, current behavior, expected behavior, and scope.

Then: Brain prepares a Workflow Plan and Task Pack revision.

  4. Review and approve

Check the exact revision, acceptance criteria, regression expectations, and warnings before approving it.

Then: Approval authorizes that revision for future work; it does not run an agent.

  5. Prepare a handoff

Open Prepare execution for the approved revision, select Cursor or Codex in Handoff, and prepare the portable brief.

Then: Give the deterministic handoff to your coding session and review its changes.

Connect your development environment

The supported local connection path is argv-cli. No editor extension is shipped yet.

  1. Install argv-cli

    curl -fsSL https://argv.app/install.sh | sh

The installer selects your supported artifact, verifies the download, and configures your user PATH where safe. Open a new terminal if it updated your shell configuration.

  2. Sign in

    argv login

The browser opens. Sign in if needed, review the environment request, then choose Connect. Keep the terminal open until it confirms connection.

  3. Connect this repository

    cd path/to/your/repository
    argv connect

Run from the repository you want to link. The browser opens a Project picker; choose a Project you can access and confirm Connect workspace.

  4. Verify

    argv status

Confirm your account, connected environment, and this workspace’s ARGV Project.

Connected — your CLI status shows the account, environment, and linked Project.
